Research
My research examines the circular economy of plastic waste in Thailand. That is, how do circular economy practitioners revalue plastics? I am particularly interested in how financial mechanisms affect the long-term sustainability of circular economy projects.
My research contributes to scholarship on the political ecologies of financialization, political geographies of volume, feminist and Marxist critiques of ‘expertise,’ environmental subjectivity, and critical Thai studies as they relate to plastic waste in Thailand. I’ve previously studied the role of ‘expertise’ and the politics of knowledge production (e.g., prominent global rankings on marine plastic waste) that shape Thailand’s anti-plastic waste initiatives.
